I’ve grown up in the music business and began showing guitars and amps to artists at 16 years of age. I manage artist relations for Ampeg, Crate, Alvarez and Mackie products. Doing the job of artist relations involves a variety of elements, most of which just boil down to offering artists the right gear, great customer service and of course, you must have unlimited patience.
I have contact with thousands of bands during the course of the year and they are always asking us if we make cases to go with our Ampeg SVT’s. My answer is always, no! We’re a manufacturer of amps and speakers, not cases.

I’ve been using A&S cases for 10 years now. I’ve put everything in them from $30,000 one-of-a-kind guitars to my work box with ICD TV and PlayStation 2. I am currently working with The Pussycat Dolls (the largest consumer of pink road cases). Our show is Pro Tools based, and my Pro Tools HD rig is cased in an A&S Kriz-Kraft 16 space rack. It has been around the world 2 times in the last 8 months and has come to work everyday.

After touring for 6 years driving entertainer coaches, I thought I had seen it all. While on tour with Cinestar, support act for Static X, I was flashed by a tractor-trailer trying to get my attention. When he caught my attention, I was informed I had lost two pieces from my trailer that I was pulling. There was also another piece ready to go. I discovered I had lost 2 A&S cases on the highway while driving full speed. Those cases were returned to me right away and I was informed that one of them had been hit by a semi truck. Much to my dismay, the case that was hit by a semi contained our Tascam and this piece of equipment was crucial for performing our shows. Turns out the contents in both cases were unharmed and we were able to perform with the equipment the following evening. To this day, I will always use A&S cases to protect my equipment!

As professional touring musicians, we are on the road all the time and the cases we ordered from A&S are a godsend. They succeed in quality, craftsmanship, ease of operation and beauty. Having these cases not only make us feel better and safer on the road, but they make us look better, too! The cases give us the look and feel of the serious musicians that we are. After the first gig using the new cases, we knew we made an important decision that was right-on.

We first heard of A&S through a technician assisting us in our set-up while on tour in Florida. Coming from Pittsburgh, PA we performed a gig that wasn’t quite what we are used to, but, hey, when on tour, it all helps out. The cases we ordered house quartz crystal bowls and I imagined that it would be very difficult to customize cases for these delicate and odd instruments. Karl Larsen was able to take exact measurements resulting in a perfect fit. Karl also was a valuable consultant that helped us make the right choices for our first custom-made cases. He was courteous, knowledgeable and patient at all times. We look forward to working with him and A&S again. After seeing how great these cases turned out, we will order another one to house our electronic gear.
